Design Ideas on the London 2012 Olympics Theme
I thought this idea could almost be like a scaled version of the London Eye. The dome shape or half a sphere works well with this idea & the properties of a good speaker,

This design is based on 3D writing with the overall depth allowing room for the components.

This design is based on the Olympic flame idea, with it being textured & almost teardrop in shape. I wasn't sure how well this idea would work once it had been manufactured.

This idea is based on the Beijing national stadium which was nicknamed the bird's nest stadium. I really liked the idea of texture but I wasn't sure how I could manufacture the effect I wanted. I also wanted a design that would relate more directly to London 2012. I liked the idea of a sphere with texture almost like a ball of string on the outside. I wasn't sure how I'd manufacture this or how it would work when it's in use.

This is looking at the shapes involved within the new Aquatic centre for London 2012. I like the organic curves & it reminds me of a stingray profile.

These sketches are looking at how the shape could be drawn & manufactured using Pro Engineer & CADCAM methods, if it was possible to use a CNC router with the limitations the machine had.

These are two different ideas I tried modelling out of blue foam so I could get a sense of scale & how it would look in a 3D form & where the components could possibly fit.
